The Rezidor Hotel Group is one of the first international hotel groups to endorse “Caring for Climate” – a voluntary initiative of the United Nations Global Compact calling for urgent and extensive action on the parts of governments, business and citizens on climate change.
Rezidor has just signed the Caring for Climate, which further reinforces its commitment to the further development of corporate strategies and practices to reduce carbon emissions. The group also continues to publicly disclose emissions and to work together with governments in countries where Rezidor hotels are located to develop climate friendly policies.
“Climate change has become a fundamental issue for society, and the need for action and leadership is becoming ever more urgent.”
Rezidor is constantly pro-active on the Responsible Business sector, organising environmental and social activities at regional, national and international level.
The group has eco-labelled almost 100 hotels and significantly reduced energy, water and waste.
Recently Rezidor also contributed to the World Economic Forum “Towards a Low Carbon Travel & Tourism Report” which reviews the impact of the travel sector on climate change and presents cross-sector emission reduction measures, and was launched last week at the World Business Summit on Climate Change at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Copenhagen.
